King Dick

Hat tip to Mentarch, who refers to VP Cheney as "Regent Cheney." Mentarch builds a case for Cheney's Office of the Unitary Regency of the U.S.A. (O.U.R.U.S.) here, and here, and here, confirming for me that Richard Cheney is the most dangerous man in the United States.
Earlier this week on CNN, Cheney told Larry King
I made the decision when I signed on with the President that the only agenda I would have would be his agenda, that I was not going to be like most Vice Presidents, and that was angling, trying to figure out how I was going to be elected President when his term was over with.

But there is no need to angle to figure out how to become President after Bush is out of office, because Cheney has been calling the shots since day one. King asked Cheney "Does it pain you when Brent Scowcroft says, 'This is not the Dick Cheney I knew'?" The response says so much via a slip of the tongue:

Brent doesn't walk in my shoes these days. He's not in the job I'm in. He's not responsible for making the decisions the President has had to make and those of us who support him and advise him.

So it does beg the question: is Cheney indeed confirming that HE is responsible for making the decisions the President has had to make? Sure sounds like it to me.

Indeed - that's Unitary Regency, completed with Puppet Presidency, written all over it!

;-)

P.S. Thanks for the h/t, Jood! ;-)

Holy shit. I didn't watch the interview, so I didn't realize that Cheney actually said that he's responsible for the decisions the president has to make. It's hard work, isn't it, having to pretend to be vice president while doing the president's job.

Just confirms what we all suspected!
Now we have proof!
Impeach the asshole and watch Georgie wither on the vine!

If we don't impeach this triple A bastard, we are never, ever going to have a government we can call our own.

He always scares me, and I don't even have a say. The only good part is that he knows he would never be acceptable as the president. The downside is that he can do everything he wants without the title.

Of course he's pulling the strings and always has. I do wonder, though, who's pulling his. I don't believe it begins and ends with Cheney and Rove.

Impeachment is the ONLY solution to the problems in this country!

Impeach Gonzo first, Cheney next and Bush last..

Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) said his push to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney is gaining support among the American people as he collected petitions with more than 100,000 signatures supporting the effort.

"I made it very clear that I was not alone," Kucinich said. "Today I am proud to see that hundreds of thousands of Americans have joined this effort."

It's time for Pelosi to do her job!

I'm with Granny. It doesn't stop with BushCo. Who is pulling the strings? I have no idea.

granny has stumbled on something here. I've been asking myself, just who's really controlling these guys and why are they so hell bent on serving the people to the buzzards?

Mentarch, your posts on the topic are quite intense. Cheney scares me, and I don't scare easily. Thanks for your work!

Robin, he's such an arrogant, evil bastard.

Scot, can we just beam him up?

Peachchick, an article I saw said that if Impeachment of Bush and Cheney doesn't happen, whomever the next President and Vice President may be will have unprecedented powers that the founders of our Nation wanted to prevent.

Cartledge, not a happy choice in the good news/bad news category.

Granny, good point. But who? Among the signers of The Project for a New American Century's Statement of Principles are Elliot Abrams, Donald Rumsfeld, Steve Forbes, Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz. Bill Kristol is the Chairman. Hmmm.

Suzie-q, I half expect Gonzo to take a cyanide pill...

Larry, we all need to CALL Pelosi.

Anon-P, Cheney as The Dark Lord - I suppose he speaks to snakes, too.

TFWY, Project for a New American Century is my guess.

Let's Talk - they are evil. They are driven by greed. They are fearmongers.

Jood, you wrote,

"[A]n article I saw said that if Impeachment of Bush and Cheney doesn't happen, whomever the next President and Vice President may be will have unprecedented powers that the founders of our Nation wanted to prevent."

I'm amazed that those running this administration have been so eager to give those "unprecedented powers" to the Executive Branch (and whatever branch it is to which Biggus Dickus belongs), because at some point in the future those powers are going to be held by a Democratic president. Of course, in their wildest wet dreams, they probably believe there will never be another Democrat in the White House, but that's just wishful thinking on their part.

It's going to be very interesting to see how the Right will react if the next Democratic president tries to use some of those unprecedented powers that Dubya has claimed. Squealing like stuck pigs probably doesn't even begin to describe it.

because at some point in the future those powers are going to be held by a Democratic president.

Which either proves that the entire fed govt has been bought by the same operatives, or that the republicans have NO intention of ever having another presidential election...

Hey Jood!! Long time no see. I'm sorta back... and angry as hell. Well, what will be do now that the dems have shown their TRUE colors and caved to the shrub? I've been telling folks for the last few weeks that dead-eye and shrub have been getting VERY bold about admitting their fascist takeover. Shrub and dead-eye have both on at least one occasion announced themself above the law. And now they ignore subpoena after subpoena... and the dems in the senate let him keep illegally spying. Dark days ahead my friend. And nice catch on the article/interview! I saw that on RawSTory and got chills up my spine.
