Happy Birthday, Alan Rickman

Yes, he draws too. And he is numero uno on my lamintated list. Yes, I need to get a life, I admit it, but I've adored Alan Rickman since 1988 when Die Hard came out. He was such a sexy bad guy! But that's not all he does. He has played everything from romantic lead to comedy to actual persons living or dead. He's sung, danced, and worn prosthetic devices. And he's a serious activist for peace.

Who told you that you need to get a life? We all have our irrational celebrity crushes and Mr. Rickman IS a fine actor. For a Limey. ;-)

Now does this mean you'll be posting more? Don't make me beg.

Rickman is one of favorties also. He is so multi-talented, and great in everything. Die Hard was my first sighting also.

I think I saw him first as Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood, and rooted for him.

My favorite line of his was when Bonnie Bedelia's Holly Gennaro tells Rickman's Hans Gruber, he's nothing but a common thief. His response? I'm an exceptional thief. I totally get now how your crush on him would start with this movie. ;^)

Alan Rickman is *saucy* ;-)

Has anyone seen Bottle Shock? It's set in California -- Napa Valley -- and Rickman plays a fusty old wine snob who comes over to California because rumour has it (*scathing* rumour!) that a crew of Americans are producing a wine that will bring the French to their knees. It's set in 1978 ... Well, Rickman's character has to see for himself so he flies to California ... and he ends up driving a Gremlin!! ... The film is a delight ... and a true story ...
