The Price of Gas Gives Me Gas
As prices at the pump continue to soar, I thought I'd share this image I took as we sailed out of Brunei (the wealthiest little nation in the world.) Yes, oil wells off the shore, pumping, burning, polluting, generally making the Sultan of Brunei richer than he already is.
Still in Chicago. Much improved. Beanie remains adorable. She thinks that when I laugh, I am a spektickle.

Damn..the first part of your post was so horribly sad.
But at least you ended it with a quote from Beanie..thank you :)
Hey, Dusty. I was so appalled sailing out of Brunei - just the level of greed - and I am not sure I can deal with it all any longer. One company I am talking to is an all-Obama office - so funny. Beanie and I had a squirt-water fight in the tub last night - she got me good!
I'm glad things are much-improved for you in Chicago. That's a very good thing.
About those oil wells, I wish we were spending more of our money on alternative fuel and energy, so we could walk away from middle eastern oil. It kills me that this is still how we live.
wow what Robin said above so true....
so you are talking to an All Obama office- that would be amazing...
the Brunei photo is sobering....and sad...
no comment on the oil crap. it sucks. as for beanie, she is a sweetie- and lord love ya for having a grandbaby that cute :) hopefully daughter is less whelmed by everything and feeling better. let me know if you need any mental health pep talks :) i was pretty good back in the day. and i gave it all up for... this! :)
I'm always amazed how the green from black oil causes blindness to smog.
Ah ha, is that what we're smelling down here? ; )
Shirt gun fights sound cool. Good thing she didn't have a Super Soaker. When I was a kid we would chase each other around the neighborhood with those things...
Ah, Robin, it was a hairy ten days. Now we're back on my turf and last night, my daughter slept over at a friend's, leaving me with Bean. THAT was fun. She's watching Elmo now.
Enigma, yes, an all Obama office. My bumper sticker is here, as is my Obama hoodie. I'm ready.
Betmo, thanks. My daughter will go to her therapist on Monday, she recognizes her need for professional help. She's unstrung, but there is hope.
TUA, well, greed is a many splendored thing. I guess.
Coffee, it sure isn't the sweet smell of fresh air. I came home from Chicago to see $4.00 at the pump for regular!
Agi, in a squirting rubber ducky fight, Beanie will win every time.
A spektickle!
And so you are, my dear.
Lulu, hello, my dear. How is ya?
