That's funny! My best friend lives in Chicago. Believe me - I got the game rundown pre, during and post from her. The Bears are a religion there - even for those who have never actually attended a game. I'm not really a football fan per se (I tend to agree with Andy Griffith's humorous 'What it was was Football!'). The only sports I watch religiously are the America's Cup races and certain Olympic sports. But I understand footballs allure. And I like actually going to the games. Same for baseball and soccer. I get a real kick out of the camaraderie; you know - sitting with other fans, hot coffee laced with rum, ham sandwiches slathered with lots of mustard. Unfortunately - that's been ruined lately by drunk assholes who'll fight at the drop of a hat. I'm still wishing the Bears luck, though. Chicago could really use the win.

I can never get past the hype enough to actually watch the game. It's become the newest corporate holiday, complete with "official" beer sponsors and lawsuits against anyone who dares to use the words "super" and "bowl" together.
What do you want to bet that's when Bush nukes Iran, while most of the nation is drunk in front of the television set.

You might want to have your crying towel near by. I'm just saying.

Since the Colts' coach used to coach the Tampa Bay Bucs, we're pulling for the Colts. That's how pathetic we are for a team to cheer for this year. My Cowboys fell off their horse a few weeks ago and the Bucs never got their pirate ship to sail this year, so we are hanging onto the Colts' coat tails.

He Said/She Said, I don't care what the score is as long as it's the Bears on top. I will be representing.

TFLS, football, basketball, baseball and hockey are a religion in Chicago. It's tough to attend a Bears game though, as season tickets are willed down family lines. I went to one game during the Jim McMahon/Coach Ditka years, and I will NEVER forget it. And oddly, I don't LIKE Football. But I LOVE the Bears.

Pursey, I thought you declare not swear. I'm confused.

Lew Scannon, you may be right about the Corporate Holiday stuff, and you may even be right about Bush invading or nuking Iran, but on Sunday, the only thing I will actually care about is which Rex Grossman shows up to play for the Bears. I'm just saying.

Pissed off Patricia, I don't think so. Brian Urlacher is going to the Super Bowl. Devon Hester is going to the Super Bowl. And if Good Rex shows up (and I think he will) the Colts won't have a chance. I'M just saying.

Lacher!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're right about the willed-down season's tickets, DJ - and even if you do get to get some of the few new non-willable tickets, you're talking a serious chunk of change for season's tickets.

My boss is going to Miami - his season's tickets won in the fan's lottery, so he gets the privilege of forking out even MORE money for the game. I'm happy for him, though.
