"One Million Blogs for Peace" movement began on Iraq War's fourth anniversary with 217 blogs. They hope to have 1,000,000 strong by the fifth anniversary. If you haven't joined already, what are you waiting for?
I was going to write this morning about the Imus shit-storm, but realized that he's only part of a bigger climate of hate. The reality, the reality is that all the shock-jocks out there fuel, and are fueled, by fear: their own, ours, it doesn't matter. I don't think for a minute that this war would have happened in a climate of calm or tolerance. Not for one minute. But we live in a climate of fear, and that makes peace a rare commodity. We can be the change we want to see in the world.
How? Speak the truth. Shine light on the truth. Don't give up, even if it seems like we are at the end of the line. Because even if we ARE at the end of the line, and Bush is our Nero, we can still walk with personal dignity. And the only way I can see us walking with personal dignity is to stand together for peace.

I sure hope we make it. I'm not one to sign up for things, but this is a sure winner.
hoorah!!! i will be walking right there with you! people who make a difference are often up against seemingly insurmountable odds- but they do it anyway. why? because it is the right thing to do and they look at the bigger picture. we may not see the results of our labors in our lifetime but maybe we can inspire future generations to fight the good fight.
I dunno...If anybody would have told me, over 3900 days ago that I'd be sober over 19 years someday, I'd have thought it was hopeless. But it just happens... 1 day at a time. So will this... 1 blog at a time. ;) Don't forget to vote at digg (unless it's already closed?? dunno)
