I'm really scared of the short period of time between the election and the time the new president takes office. There's no telling what that guy will inflict on us as he's headed out the door- particularly if he's replaced by a Democrat.
Even though our country's military is in shambles, stretched thin to the point of suicidial exhaustion, this president is a full-on coward, and would never take such a bold step. He knows that a draft would absolutely insure a Democrat in the White House in '09. Nothing mobilizes the young like the call to yield their autonomy to die for bad and unnecessary war.
Yes I to agree with Larry. If Bush attacks Iran, all we can look for is a draft, I hope that includes the sons and daughter of both the House and Senate. We know for security reasons, Bush daughters will have a pass. So it want bother him to do it.

Bush is using the same rhetoric as he did on Iraq and once again the sheep in the media, and in the Democratic party are following right along.
Bush will attack Iran, and it will launch World War III. Then there will be a draft.
I hope I'm wrong, but it sure looks bad.
The 110th is a willing partner of the Bush regime. They have been all along.
They are creating global disaster and there isn't a goddamn thing we can do to stop it.
Larry is right. An attack on Iran is imminent and a draft will follow.
I hope I'm wrong.
I fear you both are right, but I hope I am wrong too...awesome graphic, jood!!
I've read that the draft will include BOTH women and men ages 18-42!
If I'm drafted I'm gonna pull a Full Metal Jacket!
That's when the people will finally take to the streets and Blackwater will be called in to put down the uprising.
It would not surprise me if the Death Camps built under Halliburtons no bid contract are ready to open for business.
God Bless.
I don't believe there will be a draft at least until the next pres. Why would he start now, doing something he said he wouldn't?
They know the public outcry would be too large, another reason not to while he's still in office.
Either way, one of the biggest mess's and hornets nest ever to materialize! ; (

Canada's looking better and better.

There better be, or you and I will be attacking Iran! There's nothing else left! But of course, the dumbass doesn't let that bother him.
From BushCo's pov this would be the perfect time to institute a draft AND invade or bomb Iran.
He has nothing to lose and the next President would have to clean up his messes.
The coming draft (right after we rain hellfire down on Iran, is my guess) is the least of what's ahead.

Sure sounds like Iran-mongering to me. God, these people are heinous!
thomaslb - you presuppose that there will BE elections next year.
I am not convinced there will be.
There will be a crisis - a Terrah-ist attack - a national emergency - a need to declare martial law and suspend elections.
Just wait for next year's "October Surprise"
