A Cub Fan's First Sentence: Wait til next year.
Truly, the worst fold of a team since the 1969 Cubs. Or maybe the 1984 Cubs against San Diego. Or, perhaps the Cubs vs. Steve Bartman. Or... year, after year, after year. After year, after year, after year...
My clothes are torn, I'm in black, I'm in mourning. Don't gloat, I'll call out a hit man on you.

Those other teams folded, this one simply never showed up. Don't worry, I know sporting pain, so no gloating from this corner of the internets.
Maybe you can divert your attention to something else, like the election?
Oh wait, thats even more depressing.
Maybe not-- we have 30 days to get it together.
How about getting some folks to register to vote?
I'm starting to feel the fierce urgency of wanting Obama to win. I feel like this election is more like we are trying to pull the country out of the fire in the 11th hour. We have GOT to stop this trainwreck.
My condolences, Jood. Sincerely. No smirks. In truth, key umpiring decisions went against the Chicubs.
I didn't follow them as I am following the Sox. As well as they did this year like you I was surprised they lost in three. Next year will be different!
Ah, and Steve Goodman! Classy!
Unfortunately, I am not surprised - this how it is in Cubdom. You are led to the edge of baseball bliss and then pow reality sets in.
By the end of the evening, I be right there with you, except that I have my 2005 WS DVDs.
I really wanted to see the Cubs Sox World Series. Why should NY always get that?
Take heart Jood... At least Da Bears are in first place.
// At least Da Bears are in first place // ??
Boy, did that wreck my monday morning!
Lo siento, Diva. I know how much you live and die by the Cubbies. See you in Mesa next spring!
Nothing to gloat about..I am so sorry they didn't get to the big show Diva. :(
