From Jan. 17, 2003 Bush Seeks $3.5 Million for Group Building N. Korean Reactors.
That company? The company that got the contract to deliver equipment and services to build the two light water reactor stations was ABB (Asea Brown Boveri), which describes itself as, “a leader in power and automation technologies that enable utility and industry customers to improve performance while lowering environmental impact.” The contract was valued at $200 million and was signed in January 2000.
Donald Rumsfeld was an executive director of ABB from 2000 - 2001.
Follow the money.

Goes right along with my post today. Why did the Bush Administration release $95 million dollors to North Korea with no over site?
So..... Rummy is making money off of North Korean nukes? And the $25 million he owns in the ONLY drug miraculously found to be effective against the uber-hyped and completely overblown bird flu-- Tamiflu-- isn't enough for him? Sweet Jesus... if I knew that scaring the eyebrows off of people was THIS profitable, I am such an idiot for being a teacher and I am certainly in the wrong business.
These people are unbelievable. If there's money to be made, they're on it, no matter what. There is no higher ideal than their own bank accounts. The planet be damned.
OHHH, Jood, this is shocking new information. I bet he knew about the Foley scandal too.
i am shocked! shocked i tell you! shocked that it wasn't halliburton.
Fred, great minds, yaddayaddayadda. Why did Bushco release that money to North Korea? Well, SOMEBODY in the administration is getting rich over it.
Tina, isn't Rummy an incredible businessman? We are both in the wrong line of work. In my next life, I'm coming back as a rich, skinny, heartless republican.
Robin Andrea, I was telling a friend that once the planet is destroyed, they'll start building condos on The Moon, and Mars. This is why Space Tourism is starting to "take off."
Pinkfem, I bet he did know about Foley. He's probably making money from it.
Betmo, I believe that ABB is a subsidiary of Haliburton.
Now this piece of news really gets my goat. To hell with the world - put dollars in my pocket. I can't say what I'm thinking - because I usually don't wish horrors on people. But Rumsfeld? I want for him what he has visited upon others - and that's all I'll say on the subject.
Signed in 2000. Unbelievable. Uhhhh, do we think the press is asleep at the wheel again?
TFLS, I am with you. 25 days til election day, though.
Karena, I think the press might just start to be waking up. I hope.
