Friday grandbaby blogging

Inspired by Friday Cat Blogs, and not having a cat, I have to admit to being one of "those" grandparents who have to show everyone their grandchild. Her chubby legs are a complete joy.

HW, when little Ellie Bean was born, she had this tiny rosebud mouth. Then she opened it, and it was Mammoth Cave. Hilarious! She's truly long and lean, except for those legs, which are just munchable!

Every baby should have one of "those" grandmas! She's lucky to have your love.

Robin Andrea, grandchildren and grandparents are united against a common foe: the parents. I wish she lived closer to me.

I'm jealous. I wish my chubby legs were a complete joy!

Your comment on grandparents and grandchildren are united against a common foe is so funny and so true. All little kids need an adult accomplice to help them break the rules once in a while. Cookies for breakfast never hurt anyone, as long as they came from Grandma!

Karena, what a good idea! Cookies for breakfast! Thank you!

Diva,
If you are open for advice regarding breakfast from Grandmas I have two suggestions.

Grandma number one: Old fashioned type, always made bacon, eggs and toast.

Grandma number two: Always served cookies and hot chocolate. She made the hot chocolate the night before and put it in the fridge in individual cups. In the morning she would scrape the scum off the top and reheat it.

Today, I really like bacon and eggs as a breakfast treat. As a kid, I liked the sugar cookies and the scum-scraped hot chocolate.

Karena -- you should have seen Ellie at her first birthday -- her first taste of sugar. My daughter bought a gorgeous cake -- big, lots of people at the party -- and I baked a cake -- small, sort of for Ellie only. But she dove into both -- two fisted sugar high. It was hilarious. Unfortunately, the photos are on film only, so I can't get them on my blog.

She loves to dive into her food.
