We have illegal EMPLOYERS, not illeagal immigrants.

In 1986, when Ronald Regan upended labor laws and began his attacks on Labor Unions, he basically turned a migrant worker population into permanent residents. As undocumented residents, they began to work for below minimum wage, taking jobs from American citizens who received higher pay because of Unions and Labor Laws.

Under George Bush, enforcement at work sites has dropped 95%. Under George Bush, employers are not being prosecuted, employers are not being fined. Under George Bush, the exploitation of "illegal" immigrants has exploded. And under George Bush, the red herring of "illegal immigrants" is intended to throw the scent off the abuses of power his administration makes on a daily basis.

The solution? Elect real democrats who will restore the labor laws, and go after the real problem: Employers who exploit people for their own greed.

Sigrid, what have we got in the White House? Liars, cheats and thieves. Gotta sweep 'em out.

Now now Diva... we can't apply the laws to the corporations. They OWN our govt and politicians.

Exactly, Diva - this is what I've been saying since the last time they dug this 'debate' up. Of course it's the employers. If there were no employers hiring illegals, they would not be here. How hard is that to figure out? Jeez Louise!

Tina, yes, it's the United States of Haliburton.

Alicia, they drag this out as an "issue" whenever things get too hot for them to handle elsewhere. But then, who would the Bush family get to plow their fields?

Right on. The repugs know the employers hire them below minimum wage and they also refuse to raise the minimum wage, so they continue to support the wealthiest at the expense of the poorest and that includes pretending to be all incensed about the Mexicans.

Karena, it's the old "blame the victim" mentality.
