Friday grandbaby blogging

Her daddy is a very good golfer. He decided it's never too early to instill a love of the game, so he cut down one of his old clubs to make it Ellie Bean size. Here she is, teeing off.

And her response: YAY! HOLE IN ONE!

All sports pros need good nourishment. And her hair is really stylin, with those pigtails. She's starting to look like a little kid, rather than a little baby. I adore her.

she is very cute. here's a question for you- i don't have kids but the tenant upstairs is entertaining one apparently. why do small children have to run and run and run for no reason? it is driving me nuts.

What's not to adore. She's a cutie pie.

A cute chick with a good golf swing, watch out for the little boys in the neighborhood. :)

She's definitely a cutie. I can feel your heart melting!

betmo: little kids have tremendous energy, they just can't help it. They're in a hurry to see everything, they have curiosity about everything, and then they go to sleep and start over the next day. If an Olympic athlete went through the day of a small child, they'd be hospitalized from exhaustion.

pop: Thank you. I admit I don't understand the fascination with golf, but my Beanie is tall like her daddy, so there's a chance. Of course, her mommy (my daughter) is more interested in reasonable games like baseball, so who knows?

robin andrea: the hard part is they live in Chicago, and I'm here in LALA land. I try to tell them to move, but oh, well.

Hi mommy! It's fun to see my bunny's pictures on the world wide web. I'm partial but I think she's pretty darn cute.

Hi Sweetie! Thanks for the visit. Every Friday, she goes on my blog. You did good! Love you. I think it's hilarious that we're on the phone and blogging at the same time.

Aaaw... I so miss the days of wee lil baby-whale spouts on the top of the head... sniff.
BabyGirl's thick curly hair touches her butt now. After her bath, we spray leave-in conditioner in her hair and brush it all out. It is the identical ritual my mom did with all of girls after our bath every night. And just as my mom did, we sing songs while doing it... dear God I love being a mommy.

tina, if you love being a mommy now, all I can tell you is being a gramma is about 100 times better. Just knowing that your own child produced another perfect being, all the joy, none of the worry.

She's a sweet one...and I bet she gives good butterfly kisses to Gramma...

Betmo's comment cracked me up because I don't have kids either so I'm in the dark about most of what they do. I can say this, your granbaby is really cute.

sumo, not yet. but I was the recipient of her first ever kiss to anybody, when she was about six months old. She went for my cheek, it was great. Everyone said she was just trying to taste it, but it felt like a kiss to gramma.

karena: thanks, I adore her. But kids are a mystery to everyone who doesn't have them, and to a lot of us who did! I have no idea where the energy comes from.

She's adorable! My niece just turned SIX and I can't believe how fast it happened. My sis and mourned the loss of her "meatsleeves" 2 years ago, when she got her "kid" shape. But I sure love our relationship now. Lots of teasing each other and laughing. She's quite the card.

Be good to have a pro golfer in the fam! You might be able to retire in true style!

glenda, aren't grandkids the best thing since, well, anything? First fireworks are good. Beanie didn't go this year, her mom thought she needed to get her beauty rest.

Helen Wheels, I love that term "meatsleeves." Wow. I bet you're an awesome auntie. Funny, I was just thinking that today -- If Beanie got to be a successful golf pro, her mom & dad would be living in style, all the grammas would be comfy, and we'd all follow the tour. I don't "get" golf, but who cares?
