Christmas Greetings - with update

If Christmas is the celebration of the human heart, then let our hearts beat together for peace. We stand at a terrible time in history. The "elected" leaders of America are cynical despots, bent on World domination. They are men with black hearts, whose actions are fueled with hate.

But our hearts are open, and geared toward peace. The road to peace is not black and white. It is paved with tolerance, love, understanding, open minds, and nuance. The road to peace is paved with acceptance, and it is not a smooth road at all. The road to peace is not narrow, nor is is paved with idiology, and it is an open road.

We can work together, and we can be strong. We can be the change we want to see in the world. We can, and we must, and we will, and we must not give up. What do we do? We continue to demand the impeachment of war criminals. We act to reverse the destruction of our planet. We open our hearts, we do with less stuff, we give of our souls, we love. And, as important, we laugh.

So my Christmas gift to you: I wish you trust, love, tolerance, joy, laughter, and good health. I am delighted that you are part of my world, because you also give me hope. War is over, if you want it.

I just made a total elf out of Beanie.

Thank you, divajood for such a beautiful message. We share the same Christmas wish. Yes, war is over, if you want it.

Aaaw... I'm so happy to see that you chose such a lovely image for your post.... Although truth be told, I just may be a bit biased when it comes to that image :)
I actually chose that image as my blogger icon after I sent Christmas and Hannukah cards out in 2004 with that on it and one simple word inside: PEACE. After the 2004 election trainwreck, I couldn't think of a more appropriate message for the holidays.
I cherish you Diva. I'm so happy we have been able to become friends, and I rely upon your wisdom often. Let's all pray for peace and try to take better care of each other in 2007 just because it is the right thing to do. Hugs and kisses... and do send some Lola's way, too. Although if I know Lola like I think I do, she is busy right now visiting her many admirers and collecting diamond rings under the mistletoe as we speak.

Amen, Ms. Diva and bless your heart!

Thank you. We do have our work cut out for us and Peace, above all else is worth all our efforts.

Beautiful musings, Diva! Your philosophy is the road map to that elusive state of peace. Why is it then, that we end up with these damn wars despite the majority of humanity yearning for the exact opposite? Might it boil down to, that our leaders' interests don't mesh with ours? They all speak of peace while thinking of war.

Beanie's "twist" was first spooky, then bizrre and finally a hoot. I laughed my head off. You are some crazy lady, Diva. In a good way, that is.

Now that's a worthy wish! Merry Christmas Diva!

Beanie is a very cute elf, and you are a loving and sweet grandmother. Happy days to you.

Robin Andrea, we do have work to do. Do you think I should send that to my daughter, the Beanie Elf thing?

Tina, it is a great image, and every time I see it at your blog, I think, yep. I cherish you too, and we do need to work for peace for our children, and grandchildren. Lola says thank you, she's been a bit peevish because she might not win the "No Talent Pagent." Lorna Swanson got in a late entry that might knock her out of first place.

TFLS, I wish the same to you! You are a wonderful voice in the wilderness.

Tree, Thank you. Thank you for your contributions to Good Planets, too.

PC Mary, we do have a long row to hoe in 2007. Impeachment is a priority.

Pekka, you can also "elf" yourself. As for the condition of the world, I'm not sure if the majority of people do want peace, because they are driven by fear. I cannot answer how these despots rise to power, though. That makes no sense at all.

Kvatch, Merry Christmas to you and Mrs. Frogette. Hope you are well.

Sumo, Merry Christmas to you. On Chanukka, we light candles and eat foods fried in oil, so I sort of took a pass this year while we figure out what is making me ill.

Donnie McDaniel and your great Dress Blues, Happy Holidays to you and yours, my friend!

DivaJood, you know you still have a pic I sent you that you did not use yet? I sent two in that mail and you used the one along the riverfront. There was another with a lake. Might be able to use it as a filler if you need it. I also need to send the one with the double rainbow.

Your words get to the heart of things. Thank you for sharing. My wish to all is an immediate end to the insanity our adminisatration has led us in to.
May Peace and Love be with you.

Divajood, your words are beautiful and powerful. Yes, we all need to tune our consciousness to a level of tolerance, openness, and love so that we can start making peace in our own lives first - it could be contagious! Happy holiday, and thanks for all of who you are and what you give us!

Donnie, please resend the lake picture, because I can't find where I put it. Born blonde.

OWL, thank you - I'm afraid to send it to my daughter, though, because Beanie sounds a lot like me...

Alicia, mid-January! Blue 2007, with Impeachment!

Yoga, back atcha.

Joy, happy holidays! In our little office, I think you and I might be the only two who think this way.

Sigrid, thank you - and I'm happy to see you're blogging again at your place. Welcome back!

Diva Jood, thank you so much for this beautiful image and the peace message. The gift you give us is the best gift of all. And, of course, I wish that for you and yours as well. And Beanie as Elf is adorable; I did this, too. Office Depot must have had millions of people being elves this holiday.

DivaJood said...

Patricia, absolutely. Peace, and a side of Peace Chick Mary's Impeach fruit.

Fran, thank you. I wonder if Office Depot knew how many people were going to do that - it was hilarious.
